With the passing of Prince, it seems appropriate to feature an image that I created several years ago titled “Purple Rain”.  This abstract photograph was taken from a serving tray that had a printed purple image under glass.  The section of the tray that I photographed had water damage and it created a watercolor effect with an abstract image hidden within the frame.


 
Whether you like the color purple or not, the different shades and hues of purple can add a fresh look to your room and offer an unexpected accent.  It pairs well with silver, gray, brown, cream and other colors.  Here are some examples, compliments of K.
